Today, at ROHM Theatre Kyoto, Master Idaki Shin’s piano concert was held. Before the concert, we opened the Legendary Café of Koguryo for two hours at Komaya in Gosho-Minami. Komaya has become well known as a shop that does not open. Since it opens unexpectedly for just two hours once every two months, it is truly a “legendary, mystical” Koguryo Café. This was never planned. It simply unfolded through the natural course of events. Coffee I have the privilege of preparing at Komaya is exceptionally delicious. Moreover, there is no other venue besides the Legendary Café of Koguryo where I write poems expressing the inner light-scape of those who visit. I myself regard this as a mysterious opportunity, recognizing it as the workings of guidance, and engage in it with joy. After I look into each person’s inner state and expressing it in poetry, the concert that follows enables me to understand even more clearly the state of our times and how human beings are living in them. I always feel as though the two events are paired. Before the concert, many people carry challenges and limitations within themselves. During the concert, those conditions change all at once. They are liberated, their problems are resolved, and they soar into a different dimension as if the dimensions have changed. The power of the concert is truly extraordinary. Today, the sound resonated in the depth of my body, awakening strengths that had never appeared before, and my own strengths began to expel unnecessary things from my life, things that blocked the way forward, things coming to end, things destined to perish. I was profoundly astonished. Once all that prevents us from moving ahead disappears, all that remains is to advance toward the future. Nothing but possibility lies ahead. Today I experienced, with my whole being, that this is how a human being could live, and I felt as though I had been reborn from the very core of life itself. Once such an experience takes place, I know there can be no forgetting it and no returning to the past state. Having undergone rebirth from the depths of life, I see the doors of possibility opening toward the future, and I am filled with a sense of vibrancy. Although it is a concert, it is an experience through which one’s life changes, the world changes, and history changes. If we could share an experience of such magnitude together with many people, the world would surely be transformed in no time. With that day in mind, I will continue to share information about these concerts. Thank you very much.
