I have finally noticed that I feel uncomfortable with the fact that, although my inner state has changed greatly, the clothes I wear, the things I own, and the environment in which I live have remained the same. Today, I began rearranging my home by laying down a single carpet. Whenever something begins for me, it is always with a single thing—like a single table runner from which I end up completely renovating my home. Something I encounter becomes the beginning of an overall transformation. Tokyo Koma-ya, too, underwent a complete renovation after I encountered a single chair. Encounters are the future. I am encountering the future itself. Today, after rearranging my home and getting rid of things that needed to be discarded, I felt tremendously refreshed. Then, a powerful energy to try anything began to overflow within me. It is a very hot summer, and these days I often think about how I want us all to stay well and get through it together. First of all, when I drink the “Tamashii” (soul) coffee roasted by Master Idaki Shin, I am instantly filled with energy, and I am grateful that my body naturally begins to move. This is something everyone who works with me says as well. We are all supported by the “Tamashii” coffee roasted by Master Idaki Shin. Today, through the experience of being in the space I had rearranged, I also experienced that creating a space and environment in which it is easier to express oneself can become a great source of strength. New ideas for trying various things began to emerge, and creating what lies ahead has become increasingly enjoyable. Drinking the “Tamashii” coffee every day, I wish to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Today, at Food for Life—Kitchen Labo, Brillante Il Suzuki and Yui-Kobo chef provided us with an Italian meal. I enjoyed delicious dishes that cannot be found anywhere else, and it was a very enjoyable time. In this hot summer, enjoying delicious food, drinking delicious coffee, doing what I want to do, creating the future, I want to spend each day moving forward, getting through the heat. Thank you.
