Messages from Keiko Koma

8th Jul. 2026 / in Tokyo

Today, we once again welcomed a guest from Turkey to Tokyo Komaya. Although we have had connections with Turkey in the past, none had led to the realization of our concert. So, I feel truly delighted that I can speak with someone from Turkey about the possibility of holding Master Idaki Shin’s concert in pursuit of world peace. While nothing has yet been decided in concrete terms, I feel deeply happy and grateful that we have a connection through which we can consult one another and work together. Our conversation also became an opportunity to learn about ties between Turkey and Japan that I had never known about before, and it made me feel that understanding history enables us to create the future. Throughout history, conflicts have been repeated because of differences in ethnicity, language, ideology, religion. Yet, at our origin, we are united. I explained that Master Idaki Shin’s performance dissolves all such boundaries and brings us together to be united. I sincerely hope that as many people as possible will experience these concerts, transcend the boundaries created by humans, and recover the life and inner being that were originally united, for I believe such an experience is what truly creates peace.
When I wish for a peaceful world, I simultaneously find myself wishing from the bottom of my heart to share the experience of our concerts with many people. Once we have truly shared this experience, we know in the depths of our being that there is no reason to fight. I am profoundly grateful that today, too, we could understand each other and engage in dialogue. Thank you very much.
