Today, once again, we held the “Keiko Koma Coffee Ceremony” and the “Storytelling and Poetry Gathering” at Tokyo Komaya.
At the Coffee Ceremony, I brew “Komaya Special Ceremony Coffee,” specially roasted by Master Idaki Shin at Yui Kobo for Komaya. I sense the condition of each person who will drink it, grind the amount best suited to that individual, and pour hot water, boiled in an iron kettle, with a bamboo ladle into cups created by Master Idaki Shin. Enveloped in light and receiving countless invisible influences, the coffee I brew cup by cup transcends dimensions, unfolding a world that feels far beyond this realm.
Together with the coffee, we also serve “Yomogi Daifuku,” which I make myself. I have named it “Koguryo Good Fortune Daifuku.” I feel that it matches the coffee perfectly and brings about an immediate change in one’s state of being. I offer this Ceremonial Coffee in the hope that it will provide each and every person with an opportunity to regain one’s true self and soar.
Today as well, all were delighted, and when I saw them off with smiles on their faces as they headed home, my heart overflowed with gratitude. I am deeply grateful and truly happy to be able to work every day filled with joy and thankfulness.
During the Storytelling and Poetry Gathering that followed, each moment spent together with those who had gathered, expressing what lies within our hearts, was a rich and irreplaceable time in life.
Today, we served coconut pudding made by Emi and Ai, which we named “Harmony of Beautiful Women.” When we enjoyed it together with the coffee I had brewed, everything felt as one, filled with love, and we became completely absorbed in eating it. The happiness passed in what felt like an instant.
The time we spend sharing joy together, expressing what is within our hearts through words, and feeling one another’s hearts is truly joyful and enriching. I can see a future in which each and every person creates the great romance of history.
Ever since I heard that, in the invisible world, many souls are taking the lead in creating a new era, I have felt great hope. I began living with the desire to move forward together with them and help open the way ahead so that we would not be left behind.
Each day, I strive to put my inner self in order, express my feelings, and create the future. The events held at Komaya bring many realizations and opportunities for learning, and they provide me with truly valuable and irreplaceable experiences.
