Today, “Keiko Koma: My Life Story” was held at Tokyo Komaya, and we live-streamed it to people all over Japan. It is a joy of my life to be able to share my life story and to create a path that leads to the Idaki Counseling Course and concerts. When I spend time doing what I most want to do, a heartfelt feeling of gratitude is born and my life is filled with delight. Komaya is surrounded by the warmth of wood, and voices resonate in silence, creating a truly pleasant space. I would like to express my deep, deep appreciation for the opportunity to speak about Idaki here. Those attending for the first time and those who have already taken the Idaki Counseling Course join together for a coffee after my talk. At Komaya, we serve “Komaya Special Coffee” which Master Idaki Shin has specially roasted for Komaya at Yui Kobo. This is a special coffee that can only be enjoyed at Tokyo Komaya. We also serve the Matcha Dorayaki made at Koma Gallery Café in Yasaka, Kyoto as well. As we all enjoyed coffee together, all took out their notebooks and began to write down poems. Then, each person began reciting his or her poem aloud. It is a very rich and wonderful time. This kind of movement arose naturally, and I came deeply to feel the importance of each and every person expressing one’s feelings and true demands of life out loud. Expressing allows one to move forward. And it can be realized. I felt that Komaya is indeed a "cafe where poetry is born," and a smile was born on my face. To be able to express the words of life while enjoying the most exquisite coffee in such a wonderful space is an irreplaceable and enriching moment in life. Thank you very much.
