When I went out, my car had trouble with a tire, which told me that a new movement was beginning. Whenever a new movement starts, my car always has some kind of trouble. I was reminded to move with great care and attention to my footwork, and so today, too, I felt the center within me and drove vigilantly. Believing that expression is what matters most now, I have been recording video lectures for the KEIKO KOMA Channel as often as possible. Expression is important at all times, but I was shown once again—in the state I describe as a divine message—that expressing myself through these video lectures is essential. Living as we do in a time of upheaval, it is necessary that we don’t lose the center of life and that we regain ourselves, and I feel expression and movement that go from the present toward the future is essential, so I move by following the deepest wishes that arise every day.
Tomorrow at Tokyo Komaya, there will be a Keiko Koma Coffee Ceremony and a Gathering to
Express in Poetry the Deepest Wishes That Arise as We Move Toward Full Houses for Concerts. Tokyo Komaya appears to me as the center of the world. I hope to express words that are born there and to create our future. Each time I engage with it in earnest. I hold the intention of building a place that is ever better and ever more sacred. I am deeply grateful that such a place exists where I can feel this way and put it into practice, and it would bring me nothing but joy and gratitude if experiences at Koma-ya were to spread throughout the world and help bring about a better world—and so I will be there again tomorrow. Thank you very much.
