Messages from Keiko Koma

25th May. 2026 / in Tokyo

The green trees are radiating new life energy that is simply breathtaking in its beauty. Wildflowers of every color are in bloom, and just walking among them is a delight. I am glad to have come to Mount Hiei in such a beautiful season. On the way back to Tokyo, as I descended the mountain pass, Lake Biwa spread out before me. The blue of the water was so beautiful that I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness. Along the journey, white clouds floated in the blue sky. There was no wind, and the clouds held their shape without moving at all. Then a gentle summer breeze brushed past, and I found myself remembering summer holidays from childhood. I never actually spent a summer holiday quite like the one that came to mind, yet for some reason the breeze became words that could only be called "a memory of summer holidays." In that moment, I felt that every single instant of life is eternal. The summer breeze I felt on today's journey, too, was radiating an eternal brilliance. The same was true of the time I spent yesterday at Koma Gallery Café in Yasaka, Kyoto. The pleasant breeze there also felt eternal. I feel happiness from moment to moment. Lately, those moments have been growing more frequent. There are times when my heart clouds, but if I turn inward, take a deep breath, I recover myself and regain my body. I can quickly return to that happiness moment by moment . I am grateful that moment to moment in life may be filled with happiness. And since I have been praying for world peace since the age of three, I pray at the same time that those moments are moments when every person in the world may live in happiness. A sense of deep gratitude arises that I can engage in nation-building being unique inside. Thank you very much.
