On a refreshing day with a May wind, as I drove past Inokashira Park for the first time in a while, many scenes from my childhood came back to me. The park, radiant with the lush greenery of the trees, is a place filled with fond memories. Today, I enjoyed marbling at my staff member’s atelier. Carried by the May breeze, I could move naturally united with water, light, and wind to create marbling patterns, and it was an experience of profound joy and comfort. I was captivated by the beauty of the evening sky at sunset. It seemed to resemble marbling patterns themselves, and something about it filled me with delight. The very same marbling patterns as those in tonight’s sunset sky appeared over and over before me. Although I was using many different colors, I found it mysterious that no matter how many sheets of washi paper I dyed, they turned out to be the same shade—and then I realized that today’s sunset sky carried exactly those colors. Being able to do marbling united with the life of nature brings me immense happiness and joy. Today once again, beautiful patterns emerged, filled with fragrant energy that carried beautiful scents and breezes. My heart sparkled as I envisioned that when we walk wrapped in the winds of May, the future will unfold. With beauty inside and clothed in light outside, we will live a new life and open a new era. Thank you very much.
