Messages from Keiko Koma

4th May. 2026 / in Tokyo

It was a day of strong winds. As we moved toward the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” on May 13th, we once again held a coffee ceremony and a poetry gathering to head toward the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” at Tokyo Koma-ya. Last night, I was deeply moved by the extraordinary quality of Aleppo soap from Syria, and through this experience, my understanding of fragrance deepened even further. As I could move forward toward the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered,” it became a joyful day. During the poetry gathering, as I looked within, I saw that when the mist clears, light emerges from inside, and light becomes fragrance, reaching people and spreading throughout the world. I understood that when the true light of life becomes fragrance, it will spread across the world. It gives rise to hope. I felt great joy in seeing the possibility that by purifying one’s inner state, caring naturally for one’s appearance as well, and living beautifully, a beautiful fragrance may be born and carried to people all over the world. And when we recite poetry to each other, scenes suddenly appear before us, and new poems are born once more…it is a joyful time. The words and poems that arise from each person are entirely different. I am deeply grateful for these richly abundant moments in which wind and fragrance unique to each person emerge, and we can delight in them together. Each of us continues to live toward the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered,” and toward the realization of world peace. Profoundly grateful for the happiness of being able to create peace while living beautifully and joyfully, and praying every day that a peaceful world may be created as soon as possible, I live with a heartfelt wish to continue advancing toward its realization. It makes me happy that today I truly felt I made progress.
Events at Tokyo Koma-ya will continue tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will livestream “Keiko Koma Talk” from Koma-ya to people across the country. I hope new encounters will be born. Thank you very much.
