As rain falls and cherry blossoms begin to fall, fresh buds begin to shine, and in a space overflowing with the energy of life, my life becomes vibrant. I held “Traveling in the Land of Koguryo” at Tokyo Komaya today. When I think of the ongoing war and hardships that so many people are enduring, my heart aches terribly. I feel that I simply cannot stand still doing nothing, so even while remaining in Japan, I constantly consider what I can do to be of the greatest help and organize events. I believe that experiences which enrich one's heart and that restore humanity to human beings are essential, and it is with this in mind that I plan and hold gatherings. I am being helped myself. Today as well, seeing the stone walls of Wunu Mountain Fortress, the birthplace of Koguryo, and Wandu Mountain Fortress, I learned a lot from them. I reflected anew on the lives of ancient Koguryo people, who constructed mountain-top stone walls that have stood for more than 2,000 years. It made me realize that my current state of living is far too complacent, and that I am not living my life to its fullest. Now that war is occurring, I have started to think about how I would live and what I would do if I were living in wartime. I learn each day how to live as a human being, making full use of my life. Today as well, the “Komaya Special Ceremony Coffee” tasted exquisite. It is a taste beyond comparison, which is truly in a class of its own. Master Idaki Shin roasted it specially for Komaya. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to enjoy such delicious coffee together, discuss what we can do to make the world a better place, and put these ideas into action in our daily lives and activities. Today again, I earnestly pray for the war to end as soon as possible.
