Today, we held a talk by Master Idaki Shin via live streaming. His words were entirely timely for the present time, and once again today, I felt saved. That we live in an era of division is painfully evident when we look at the world situation, as well as in what happens around us and in the course of our daily lives. I deeply understood how vitally important it is to face this reality squarely, to live without losing the center of our life, and to regain ourselves.
Today as well, the city of Beirut in Lebanon was shown on television news. Missiles had struck, and buildings were shattered. The devastation was so terrible that my chest felt crushed for a moment, which made me want to cover my eyes. But I gathered myself, realizing that turning away could never make the world better, and accepted reality. At the same time, I have begun to think seriously about how I should live and what I should do so that such a situation may cease as soon as possible. Even until now, I have been unable to remain inactive and have continued to think about what can be done. Day by day, the feeling only grows stronger, and the resolve that we must keep moving toward solutions somehow arises in me continuously. I believe that each and every person has something to do. Tomorrow, I will hold an event called “A Day of Encounter.” I will do so in the hope that it may become an opportunity for each person to awaken to the truth and to bring forth one’s own presence. I place my hope in the vision that the world will change when everyone reveals one’s true being in this world. Human beings create society. If human beings truly become human, and if we live in the original way of humans in accordance with the workings of life itself, I strongly feel that the kind of things we see today will never occur. First, I feel the necessity for each of us to walk the path of becoming truly human and create a world without conflict, a world in which human lives are not sacrificed. Today again, I pray for the safety of those who continue to live in hardship, that they may be protected by being united in life. With this prayer in my heart, I will continue to live without losing the center of my own life.
