Today again, the day began by listening to revelations. I received an unavoidably clear message that when the core moves, circumstances change. I understood that this core signifies expressing one’s own being. As it happened, today I was to hold the "Risshun Soul Poetry Gathering" at Komaya, exactly as I had envisioned, so I felt hope that if we could express our beings in the gathering, the core would move and situations would begin to change. I believe to be alive is to express one’s being. Since childhood, I have lived by giving poetic form to the voices of trees and flowers. Writing poetry is my life itself. I am deeply grateful for a life in which a "Soul Poetry Gathering" can take place. I am also grateful from my heart for a life in which a gathering to read poetry can be held in such a supremely beautiful space as Komaya, embraced by solid wood. I prepared flowers just as I visioned them, and learning that soybeans and adzuki beans are auspicious for Risshun, the beginning of spring, I promptly made daifuku rice cakes. I also brewed Ceremonial Coffee specially roasted by Master Idaki Shin. I could continue reciting improvised poetry for forty-five minutes, and even I was astonished at how vividly I sensed the fragrance of souls and the movement of the wind. I kept reading poems out of the scenery that appeared clearly before me. All participants also presented their own poems. The time spent enjoying the scenes that emerged from each person’s poem was a truly happy moment. It was my first experience of how rich and joyful it can be to exchange poems and savor the visions that arise. As each person concentrates on feeling deeply within and expressing what one feels through words, the atmosphere becomes quiet and profound. Without a single unnecessary word spoken, this precious time of expressing inner depths through words teaches us the richness and the core of living. Words are life itself. And words open the way forward. Being able to open the path and move forward through today’s poetry gathering filled me with deep joy. From here on, wishing to receive great guidance and pave the way forward, I will continue to attune my heart to guidance and devote myself to living in a new way every day, so I can live faithful to how my life naturally works.
