Today as well, we held a couple of events at Tokyo Komaya. We began with a screening of the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” held in India. By chance, a participant, who had spent ten years in spiritual training in India and entered monkhood, joined us and shared how profoundly timely it is to hold a screening of the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” in India at this time. Our conversations flourished as we spoke about our various experiences in India. Although the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” was held twelve years ago, I am once again filled with gratitude to know that it carries messages that are essential for the present time. Watching the screening also enabled me to understand what kind of era we are living in now. While it is said that we stand on the eve of war, I felt keenly that we are facing a crisis that allows no delay. For this very reason, it becomes clear that without acquiring a new way of living, we will not be able to survive. I believe that by expressing our deep wishes that are born each day, encountering the future, and continuing to live toward the future, we will open a new era. In the next event “Gathering to Express in Poetry the Deepest Wishes That Arise as We Move Toward Full Houses for Concerts,” in which we share the words of life through poetry and read them aloud, we experienced a deeply rich and joyful time together. Through the words you write, you begin to see what you should do, and through reading poems by others, you begin to see new scenes turn into newly born words. The process allows us to be creative. We shared our joy, feeling that it would be wonderful if our concerts were fully booked while having such a delightful experience. I am deeply grateful for a life in which such irreplaceable experiences are possible. To be able to open one’s life and transform the world through words is a vital power for living and a source of hope. Thank you so much.
