Messages from Keiko Koma

23rd Jan. 2026 / in Tokyo

Today I could see Mt. Fuji clearly, and happiness emerged from my life through its beautiful presence. Today we held an event at Cafe Komaya for the first time in a while. We first made “Daifuku,” brewed ceremonial coffee, and we, the staff ourselves, experienced the ceremonial coffee. With a quiet heart, we connect with the far beyond; a wholesome internality, empty of all things, becomes one thing with space and expands boundlessly. When I felt that living in this state of being, I would be happy, a wind of happiness blew through. I sincerely pray that this wind will spread through the world. Preparing to welcome our guests in a state of emptiness and beauty, and spending a moment brewing coffee for them, I feel profound happiness.
When you take just a sip of Master Idaki Shin’s coffee, which he roasted especially for the coffee ceremony at Komaya, it warms up the entire body, to the point that perspiration appears. Tension dissolves, and one experiences the life that is united with the whole. In this way, one can recover oneself. With one’s entire life, one feels that this is the place to live. There is no other coffee that allows such an experience, and thus the opportunity for Komaya’s unique coffee ceremony is an exceedingly precious one, from which heartfelt gratitude is born.
Next, “Today’s Talk and the Gathering to Express in Poetry, the True Demands of Life that Arise Toward Filling All Seats for the Concert,” was more enjoyable than ever before.
The path towards filling all seats for the concert, and the realization of one’s individual happiness, and realizing world peace are identical. One comes to understand human beings, to live as a whole, to understand life that lives connected with the entire universe, and to experience a way of being in which one can live truly and happily as a human being. When one expresses in poetry the true demands of one’s life and soul, one will automatically understand what one must do. From there, we will continue to act, then express the feelings that arise again, and act again, continuing this process until we reach a full house.
Just as the universe and the Earth continue to move endlessly, we set our hearts on continuing to move as well. To keep moving without stopping, and to head toward a sold-out concert where everyone becomes happy, is what I believe to be the answer to what lies before us now. And I can see that the world, too, will improve. My heart is full of desire to walk unwaveringly along this path that has begun to move.
Today, many new three-piece sets of leather marbled notebooks were completed and displayed. Their beauty, in an entirely different dimension, teaches us that the world has changed. Feeling like the light of a new spring, I wrote poetry in these notebooks with the desire to move toward a sold-out concert together with this new light. My heart fluttered, and it was deeply enjoyable. What is born from this fluttering of the heart appears to bloom into beautiful flowers, and moving toward it is a joy. I am sincerely happy and grateful that we were able to experience this irreplaceable and precious time together with those who gathered. Thank you very much.
