Today, Master Idaki Shin’s piano concert was held at Ecorma Hall in Komae, Tokyo. The lobby of the Komae concert hall is spacious and allows for the exhibition and sale of many kinds of items, so it becomes filled with vitality like a marketplace. Clothes, my marbling pieces—tableclothes, tableware, spoons, bags—, coffee, bento meal, food—surrounded by such a rich variety, the lobby felt joyful and alive. Then the concert began, and it was truly a blessing. The concert message title, “The True Nature of Sound,” made my heart race, and although I felt puzzled and could not imagine what it might mean, I came to know with my entire being that this sound expressed everything. The moment I heard a single note, I knew that all were contained within that sound; in that instant, what lay before me opened wide, and my soul awakened. Transcending dimensions, I found myself freely and peacefully present in cosmic space, knowing that this place was eternal. A concert that offers such an extraordinary experience is truly irreplaceable. While praying that it may reach people all over the world, I am also deeply grateful for the blessing of being able to sit in a single seat in the concert hall. To be able to live such a life is genuine happiness. The sound expressed subtle sensations and nuances that words could never fully capture, and there were so many things that could be understood through it. How profoundly grateful I am! Filled with bliss, I felt that I was united with the lives of everyone, including people all over the world; my heart filled with love. I was truly happy. I pray that the energy of this experience may reach people throughout the world. Holding in my heart the day when we can experience it together with people everywhere, an overflowing desire arises within me to continue sharing these concerts with as many people as possible. There is only one concert left this year. It will be held on Christmas Eve at Kaze-no Hall of Mitaka City Arts Center. I will do my utmost so that we may welcome it with a full house. Thank you very much.
