Messages from Keiko Koma

25th Nov. 2025 / in Tokyo

Today is November 25th, the anniversary of my elder brother’s passing, and I can never forget the moment when, in the midst of unbearable pain tearing through my chest, a sudden gust of wind blew and set me on a path toward the future. The destination of that wind was nation-building. As a nation-building project, I wished to engage with food and established “Food for Life—Kitchen Labo.” Today at Kitchen Labo, people prepared dishes inspired by poems I recited. Those who ate the dishes expressed the scenes they experienced from them, and everyone shared warmth together, making it a truly heartfelt gathering. On this year’s anniversary, I strongly felt that my brother’s soul had resurrected. As we move toward the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered,” I feel each day that souls have awakened and begun to move. An extraordinary era has arrived. The era that Master Idaki Shin has long spoken of—an age built upon love—is one in which each person’s talent shines, where we join strengths, and create a world where no life is sacrificed. Seeing the possibility that, as this power grows, the old ways that relied on sacrificing human life will be transformed gives me hope. Today, wrapped in warmth, we spent a deeply rich time together. It felt as if the memories of the early days of the founding of Koguryo at Wunu Mountain returned—when people lived close together in the cold, sharing warmth to survive. I feel that when we unite our strengths, there is nothing we cannot overcome. A powerful force surges forward toward the future. Thank you so much.
