Messages from Keiko Koma

17th Nov. 2025 / in Tokyo

It was a beautifully clear day. Tonight, I worked creating marbling art. In the warm and gentle air, with no wind stirring, I could work in a deeply pleasant state. The occasional breeze that passed through felt tender and comforting, telling me it was here with me. The patterns that appeared were so divine and breathtaking that they shook my soul and gave me goosebumps thrice. The space changed suddenly. I felt the wonder of existence in how a single creation can transform an entire space. The leather carrying these marbled patterns will become notebook covers. Simply placing one somewhere changes the atmosphere, and I find myself imagining what kind of life a person will begin to live with it. I also imagine how everyday space will shift when these marbling patterns appear within it. It feels truly dreamlike. A dreamlike world opens, and the future feels filled with hope. I kept seeing what I should do to build the future and felt motivated, and by the time the work was finished, I felt energized, true to myself. The meal we shared afterward, prepared by the Konar chef, was delicious and joyful. And the “Tamashii” (soul) coffee, roasted by Master Idaki Shin, brewed with mastery had a profoundly rich flavor that filled my heart with contentment. Thank you so much.
