When I stepped out the door, surrounded by the sweet fragrance of fragrant olives blooming, joy was born within me. These blossoms always bring back memories of my late father. In the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered,” I often recite a poem about my father in which I wrote about the fragrant olive. The season of its blooming has come again, and I find myself reflecting deeply on life. Though we only live once, my life has always been inseparable from the existence of many souls from the moment I was born. I have always been taught by them that human beings do not end with death. Now, I live a life in which I truly feel that souls have revived and that they are living and working with me to create a better world. They tell me that a long-cherished wish of humankind is at last about to be fulfilled. I will cherish each day, live each and every moment fully, as I hope from the bottom of my heart to create a world where both souls and hearts of those living now are rewarded. The life of nature and the wind, too, are telling me that the time of fruition has come. I wish to live each day toward fruition, and I now feel deep joy in living honestly, true to my life and my innermost wishes. Thank you.
