Encountering blossoms of red spider lilies, I remember that it was in this season, when these flowers bloom, that the founder of Koguryo, King Dongmyeong, passed away. Long ago, standing in Kinchakuda, in the village of Koma, I saw the fields covered with red spider lilies and realized through their unbearably sorrowful red glow what this flower reveals. My soul knows. It knows the grief expressed in this red light. My soul even feels the autumn air of Wunu Mountain, shrouded in sorrow.
Now, what the Koguryo kings longed for without cease has unfolded far beyond heaven, and numerous souls have revived. On October 1st, the day to honor heaven in ancient Koguryo, I am deeply grateful to be able to hold the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” in Mitaka, the land where my ancestors have lived for generations. With countless souls gathered, we prepare for the moment when Master Idaki Shin’s expression is born—to create a world where humanity will never again repeat such sorrow and can live as true human beings.
I, too, will be present with all my being, determined immediately to give voice in poetry to the sounds expressed by Master Idaki Shin. My life knows that each and every concert is a matter of life and death. I devote myself in utmost seriousness completely to being there.
With deepest gratitude for being able to stand in this irreplaceable, sacred place that opens a new era, I pray with all my heart that the energy of love will spread throughout the world. Thank you.
