Messages from Keiko Koma

7th Apr. 2025 / at Morioka

Cherry blossoms along the roadside near Jindaiji Temple looked as if they had been washed with water and were blooming in the air. “You look even more beautiful than ever,” I said goodbye and left Tokyo. The shower of cherry blossoms in the wind and cherry petals floating on water reflected the spirit of the Japanese people. I was moved deep inside by such a sight. Dandelions, rapeseed blossoms, white magnolias—spring is beautiful with many flowers blooming in different shades. My childhood dream returns to me, lighting up my heart with the hope that it will come true this year. The trees are brimming with fresh life energy of the green, refreshing like flowing water and incredibly pure. I experience strength emerging from within like the birth of new life. Life in nature is beautiful, powerful, and wonderful. I truly desire to live in unity with it. Enjoying the view of trees and mountains, we traveled north and arrived safely in Morioka. I remember the first time I came here after the earthquake. My innermost desire that emerged while standing on the northern land where the early spring wind blew has been realized. I set up a home and established a base here, which I had never imagined or dreamed of. The command of my life that was born back then materialized. Coming to Morioka every month, I am healed by the life energy of nature and regain myself and what it means to be human. It’s been a precious opportunity. I am sincerely happy and grateful that after six months, we can hold Master Idaki Shin’s Applied Course at NPO KOMA Tohoku Center and his piano and pipe organ concert at Morioka Civic Cultural Hall the next day. I’d be grateful if I could share the experience with many people. Thank you.
