I’m delighted that we have been able to fix the concert schedules one after another in Russia. The contract for the gallery in Vladivostok will soon be finalized as well. It will be a base in the search for my compatriots. After the collapse of Koguryo, we separated and migrated to Japan and Russia. Though it happened 1300 years ago, I cannot get my mind off it. I’m going to create a base in Russia to find my compatriots in earnest. A world that spreads from encounters of souls is a space where lively souls can exist. A Kurdish person I met in Paris used the expression “a nation where we are unified inside.” At that moment, I finally understood the meaning of the message I received in front of the Stele of Gwanggaeto the Great: The world as one nation, we create a peaceful world. The Kurdish man told me that the space where the sound of Master Idaki Shin is playing and my artworks are exhibited is a world where we can live because we are unified inside. I came to know that a new nation is a boundless space where we all connect in our internalities free from the borders of state, race, language, and religion. I wish to create such a space on many street corners of the world. I’m thankful that I can start in Russia, the land where my separated compatriots migrated to. Thank you very much.
