The 1st of October—I’m sincerely thankful for the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” concert held in the land of Mitaka. I want to express my deep gratitude to those who came to Mitaka, the land where my ancestors have lived for generations. The place where I started Idaki, a room in an apartment owned by my father, was in the same area as today’s public hall. It’s a familiar place for me as I held many volunteer meetings there. I grew excited today once again, feeling the same energy as at the time of Idaki’s beginning. My life thrives most when working from scratch to build a world where everyone can live. I found it easy to read my poems by improvisation in the familiar land of Mitaka. For the concert, Master Idaki Shin prepared several different instruments from Koguryo. Using them and other instruments—analog synthesizers, digital synthesizers, Japanese drums, string instruments, wind instruments—he expressed the truth of souls and the voice of Great Being, something no one else could do. It’s as if I was watching a magnificent drama of history—but it wasn’t a drama. I experienced the weight and depth of the truth and a biosphere unrecognizable in the past. Deeply understanding that the whole world is where all living presence exists, I was moved, delighted, and filled with gratitude, which no words could describe. All are present and connected and transform into something new. Though I have difficulty expressing what I went through, my life has indeed experienced it. Gaining strength to live and being connected inside to an infinite world, I’m highly spirited to get anything done. The unknown future brings me hope. I feel ineffable excitement. The whole world expressed by Master Idaki Shin is where humans can live from now on. Human life lives in the whole of the world. I’m thankful for the beginning of a new life unified with Great Being.
When I brewed Mt. Gojo coffee, I received a message that the love of King Tomei will appear all over. My soul trembled and my body shivered. Living in love with the king, I rejoice at my blissful life. Living together with the souls of King Tomei and other kings of Koguryo I meet in the “Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered” provides me an unimaginable amount of power. With sincere gratitude, I head for the realization of peace. Thank you very much.
