With a feeling of comfort, I’ve been able to move in Paris as if I were in Japan. It’s been a fun trip—moving and building things on our own. Today I held another exhibition at a bigger gallery. I’m thankful that we can take all steps from setting up artworks to selling them. Because the site was spacious, there was something I wanted to try out, and I came prepared for it. It was to hang the 13 m-long rolls of Kimono cloths. They are filled with beautiful, dynamic energy. I’ve also brought 23 pieces of multi-use covers. It wasn’t easy displaying all of them, but in the end we managed to hang all of them. The site was truly impressive. People came in one after another. Though the color of our skin was different and our historical background was different, we could connect inside, standing together in a beautiful space. It filled me with delight and energy. In the dead-end situation of the world, I feel hope for a future when we can connect heart to heart and empathize with each other. Many people enjoyed seeing the artworks, and I was blessed with many encounters. It was a crucial day filled with delight. I’ve exhausted all my energy. “When we use all our strength, more emerges”—Master Idaki Shin’s words in mind, I take a breath to head towards the next phase.
I feel that the joy of working together connected in our hearts would change the world. I’d be happy if I could do things that bring me joy to pave the way for a peaceful world. Thank you very much.
