I drove, viewing the mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture, which brought up memories of my mother, and came across beautiful landscapes of Japan. But I felt over and over as if I were driving in the land of Ethiopia. Today guests from Ethiopia have arrived in Japan. Feeling the energy of its land, I was thankful for precious moments returning to the starting point of human beings. Watching the beautiful sunset over the mountain range, I felt excited that a dream of the future in childhood would come true in the present time. The sky was like the marbling patterns of my artworks. I enjoyed the imagination that maybe the wind was drawing the patterns with ink, or perhaps it was water. Feeling unified with lives of nature, I was grateful for the gentleness of “being alive.”
Seeing that it was pivotal for the world, I was preparing myself for the important concert of Master Idaki Shin in Kyoto on September 11. A guest from Ethiopia will attend. I anticipate that a new world will open up. I hope that it will be the start of changes in the world to realize peace. I clear myself inside to attend the concert with a beautiful heart. Thank you very much.
