I heard that ceramics handmade by Master Idaki Shin at our atelier on Mt. Hiei were made from soil at the bed of Biwako. Gently holding one of them with both hands and closing my eyes, I concentrated on my internality. From the weight of life that lay in the ground, I sensed the history of life and the history of human beings. I could see and feel that various living creatures and other existences reside in soil, their presence unrecognized by humans. They change into light through the encounter with Master Idaki Shin. My soul trembles at his profound existence, rendering me speechless in awe. In time the ceramics will be fired for thirteen hours, and the creatures and other presences will gain new lives. I wonder how ceramics that manifest beings will appear before us. My life is blessed to be present at such a precious moment. For that I feel utmost gratitude.
The vases to hold flowers exist in their beautiful postures. I will arrange flowers in them when inviting guests to our tea-ceremony house. Such a moment fills me with joy. I smile to myself just imagining putting flowers in the beautiful ceramics. Sensing the beauty of vases and seasonal flowers enriches our hearts and becomes nourishment for our lives. The energy of nation-building was sensed in the land of Mt. Hiei. I stayed here for a relatively long period this time. After heavy rain, a summer wind was blowing. Days of extreme heat will begin. I have come back to Tokyo now and will head to the Tohoku region shortly. In August four concerts are scheduled in Tokyo, meaning I will work here for a while. When I returned to this familiar land, I sensed different energy from that at Mt. Hiei. But it too was a breath and spirit of nation-building. Wherever I go, the pillar of a spirit to build a nation stands on earth. Humans can live as humans in a world where God has been manifested, an existence that used to be sealed. The world will finally change. I learned in my dream that everyone needs to awaken in the present era. No one can live in falsehood to one’s life. It is a hopeful time because the future will open up by following the original function of one’s life and living honestly to it. Anything contrary will end. It is time to create an era where people live enriched in their hearts and shine brilliantly. Thank you very much.
