At the foot of Yasaka Tower,
I look up at the five-storied pagoda that tells its history.
The tower before my eyes,
And Gojo Mountain Fortress, out of sight, overlap.
I rejoice to feel that I am at the fortress.
Anywhere I may be, I am on Mt. Gojo.
Aware that it is time to realize my earnest wish,
I live,
Work.
The wind is pleasant.
When I close my eyes, the rustling of the leaves gently brushes my cheek.
Its sound resonates gently inside.
A space of absolute clarity spreads.
I hear sounds from ancient times.
People lived,
Worked.
In the summer heat, all worked unified in their souls.
I see bright smiling faces in the space.
In the freezing cold,
Waiting for the arrival of spring,
Listening quietly to the footsteps of spring,
All lived in unison.
I hear the sound from ancient times in the beautiful space.
The souls of my ancestors who lived in the land of Yasaka
And my life are one.
Together we will realize the earnest wish of humankind.
