Letter from the sea

As I drove to Kanazawa, all of a sudden, the Japan sea came into my sight that always made my heart marvel at its beautiful and nostalgic view. I felt that the sea has always been a companion of my life. Also I thought about my ancestors who had sailed from the mainland, overcome ferocious sea waves and come ashore in Japan. Humankind has always been looking for new land to live on. When I had visited several ancient historic tombs in the Hokuriku district in Japan, I realized that people had been waiting for the arrival of their fellow’s vessel coming from the mainland and looked at the horizon every day. I also looked for the highest place and stood on my foot in order better to see the end of the sea. Unconsciously and desperately I tried to find my fellow coming from over the sea. I shed tears as I envisioned a letter from the mainland carried by a sea wind and tried to listen to a message from over the sea. One day a new message should have been delivered to them to tell them that there would never be a ship for them to return to the mainland as their dynasty was destroyed. I realized people’s great grievances as mine. Thus I created poems based on messages from Mother Earth that I had received at the historic tombs and narrated at the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert held in Kanazawa. They manifested the truth as I realized that the souls of people were resurrected at my concert. A human being could always renew one’s life and sadness and pains in the past could be wiped away and transformed into energy to open up one’s future when one encountered Mr. Idaki Shin who would share and accept one’s every negative thing in the past. My concert always demonstrated this process and his marvelous ability to express anything that would be difficult to do by words. I was always greatly impressed by his music and repeatedly experienced the process of the resurrection of souls. The Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert liberated people from negative influences of past history, resurrected the souls of people in the past, and created a new human world for coming generations.
