Spring thunderbolt
In Kyoto, at the inner garden of the Koma gallery Café, I created many marbling t-shirts for the sake of supporting the disaster hit area. Eventually it started to rain cats and dogs with thunder. I kept on walking though the patterns of marbling visualized in advance that it would rain heavily soon, as marbling was connected to the life of nature and reflected its movement. I was amazed at this. My supporting staff kept on running as I rapidly did marbling and reacted immediately to my inspirations. Today intentionally I took a lot of time for finishing one, and deliberately poured paints to see the difference, however the outcome was the same. So I decided to do marbling rapidly as before. Its patterns could never be intentionally created. Everything was the result of coincidence. Because of this, marbling works were very impressive and seemed to teach us the unity of life with nature. I really loved marbling. When I put on one marbling wear, I became filled with the sensation of freedom and true to my own nature. I could freely express myself. Because the patterns of marbling looked like the universe, I felt that my heart was embracing it. A human being was living in the universe. I realized the nature of human life that was unified with the universe, that was also what I experienced at the Idaki Shin concerts, and the precious human sensitivity common in the Jomon era, that was completely lost among modern people. Moreover we were now living in a new era, when the world three stages before the Big Bang was manifested for the first time in human history. Therefore we should renew our lives. I was greatly excited as I heard the sound of a spring thunderbolt that seemed to celebrate the arrival of a new era.
