Rei

After having held the Idaki Shin charity concert at Kobe, I went to Kyoto and it was a lovely spring day. Cherry blossom and willow trees alongside the Kamogawa river were beautiful and full of the fresh greening of new leaves. Kyoto was a different world. I drove to Yasaka. Though there were many tourists appreciating flowers, and it was much more animated than in the eastern part of Japan, I still sensed everywhere in Japan the danger of a future disaster. While I realized by my own life at his concert an authentic meaning of reconstruction after the disaster, the state of life that was looking backwards would never open up a future, and to regain the essential nature of human life was urgently needed. When I arrived at Koma gallery Café and looked up at the Yasaka tower from its back gate, the greening of leaves and their pure light welcomed me. I closed my eyes, I envisioned an extremely beautiful world full of gentle light and wind of spring. As I knew that invisible world that I envisioned would always come into reality sometime later, I was excited at the vision. Then, joyfully, I started to work on my marbling art works that I have decided to create and present to people living in an area hit by the disaster. When I made a marbling t-shirt for children, I prayed that they would remain active and vigorous and to my wonder, the marbling patterns corresponded to my wish and they looked very pure and beautiful like the life of a child. I acknowledged with gratitude that my life was always creating a future world for coming generations that would never disturb nor destroy a pure and beautiful nature of human life. Finally I created as many as two hundred t-shirts and displayed them to dry in the inner garden. They looked as if they were brilliantly shining persons. I realized the presence of Great Being. This was a light-vision that showed us that many beautiful people like this would collaborate together to open up a marvelous future. I was filled with hope and happy at Yasaka.
Meanwhile I heard that the last character of Koma, “rei”, symbolically signified the most beautiful scene on earth that was a pair of deer. I used to tell people about this and explain that “ko” represented Heaven, when I introduced the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert. I heard also that “rei” was not a mere beauty but with love. Today’s vision in front of hundreds of t-shirts at the inner garden made me utter the word “peace” and I was filled with hope. A beautiful world would be realized out of the richness of our heart so that an authentic peace all over the world would be achieved. A person’s beautiful internality was the cause of a beautiful life and also a global peace.
I was renewing my website (keikokoma.com) every day wishing to share this and organizing the Idaki Shin concerts to provide precious experience of enriching our internality. After his concert I envisioned that my internality manifested “rei”. Whatever might happen, I would keep on creating a future for humankind.
