Homeland
I presented to one of my fellow members, who was about to go back to her homeland that was destroyed by the disaster and her home was swept away, my handmade cookie with my mind-scape drawing and message, that read that our beautiful homeland should remain forever. In reality I thought about her when I wrote the message, sitting at a one-piece wooden table under photo panels of Mt. Gojo, my homeland, photographed by Mr. Idaki Shin. I became very sad as I imagined Mt. Gojo destroyed by an earthquake. However as I thought about the eternal nature of human spirituality, I realized that our true homeland was an eternal world, and I wrote down the message. After having finished all my programs for today, I picked up one remaining sable cookie not yet sold, and wrapped in a beautiful package made of organdy. And by chance, without noticing my message, I presented it to her who was about to go back to her homeland. I marveled at the coincidence because usually my hand made sable cookies were sold immediately, and never left unsold at the end of a day, so I did not have a chance to see any, or present any to anybody. Moreover the one left perfectly suited her situation. I was greatly moved and raised my voice. As soon as she read the message she went into tears. I recalled the scene that also made me shed tears. Additionally, I presented her much Andromeda Ethiopia coffee, Kilimanjaro coffee, special sweet beans hand made by Mr. Idaki Shin and my marbling shirts and aprons I had dyed in Kyoto, together with wind of Yasaka, while I prayed that they would bring hope to many people in difficulties. I wished that our present would encourage many people to bear hope to live on.
