Souls of Koguryo
I was filled with joy when I saw a calligraphy by Mr. Idaki Shin that wrote “Souls of Koguryo” as its beauty purified everything and revived the hearts of ancient people. I felt a pleasant wind as it looked as pure and energetic as a sacred dragon that freely flew over sky and Heaven, or a stream of water traversing Mother Earth. I could even hear its sound of water. I recalled that it was the calligraphy of “soul” made by Mr. Idaki Shin that lit the way for me to stand up and resume my life when I had been in a mental abyss after having lost my father and was unable to move though I could scarcely hear a voice calling my name. His calligraphy made me realize the presence of my father and the ever streaming spirituality of Koguryo within his soul. The world of souls provided me with the vigor to live on. Since then as a symbol of the unity of souls, I always brought the calligraphy to every Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert and put it on the front page of the file of my poems. The souls of Koguryo were the great encouragement and source for me to live on. This was the core of my life that allowed me to overcome any difficult situation. Thank you very much.
