A soul that knows a king of Koguryo
The video screening events of the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concerts held in Kyoto and Kanazawa were very impressive and many people shed tears. I realized that my poems there predicted what would happen at our concerts in Georgia and Azerbaijan, that nobody could have imagined before. My poems were more than words and had deeper meanings. A poem about king Kotai said that his fellow people would realize before long that his soul was revived and manifested here to see each other again, however, at the concert in Kanazawa for some reason I had modified the verse on stage and narrated that we would get together again here. I recalled that at the Idaki applied courses held in Kyoto , Mr. Idaki Shin told us about the relationship of Japan with Koguryo in ancient times as seen from the stone inscription of king Kotai that survived many centuries against grave tempests and earthquakes in the region. It marvelously and vividly described Koguryo’s influences on Japan, however, we have never been taught this at school in Japan. Similarly there was no history book that explained the overwhelming influence of Koguryo in forming the city of Kyoto in ancient times. Mr. Idaki Shin said those capable Koguryo people who knew their marvelous king Kotai should have continued to create many new things and had not time to look backward and live in nostalgia for their glorious past nor boast about themselves as the descendant of king Kotai. This made me think over the meaning of descendants of king Kotai and acknowledge the moment for rebuilding our world.
