King Kotai

On the way to Ji-an, the ancient capital of Koguryo, we passed by Bouka district that looked very poor, though the name suggested an opposite image. Everywhere was covered with glass and snow. I felt sadness watching it through a window of our car. A woman was walking along the road and seemed to have a very long way to go. However I could not do anything at all as our way to visit my ancestor’s homeland was also very long and difficult. I realized the great sadness of human life. A chilly wind had passed through my life. On my way I swore to myself many times that I would create a truly good society. At night it was even colder and my breath became white, however, I felt a gust of spring wind and finally arrived at our destination. Something within my heart was anticipating a wonderful encounter to happen. The following day I walked through the cold white air and at the sight of a clear large sky I felt the presence of king Kotai as he must have seen the same sky as I did today. I was extremely happy. Just by walking around I could realize him. Actually the view of the city was something familiar to my life since childhood, as I used to envision the same scene. I acknowledged that my life was indeed unified with the souls of my ancestors who knew that a king of Koguryo should be connected to the world far beyond Heaven, otherwise our dynasty would lose power and our people could not live a happy life. Having received the message of their soul I realized the meaning of our era that would surely achieve the most cherished wish of humankind throughout history. I became extremely excited and finally I realized an encounter with king Kotai that happened rather quietly. Anyone who would encounter him would be willing to stay together with him for the rest of one’s life. This was a precious encounter for eternity as he was with us as a wind of Koguryo moving forwards to open up a future for humankind. The new era was provided and we would create our future by ourselves.
