Three strategic spots
Late at night my staff opened a map of Kyoto in darkness and I pointed out three spots that glittered. The first one was Yasaka, where our Koma gallery Café was located, the second was my apartment, and the third was Takakura, the location of our new Kyoto office. In so doing I did not read the map. I just designated three spots of light. This made me fully prepared to follow the precious guidance of my ancestors and Great Being. My ancestors always taught me to open up my future to live on. Now the time has come to do so again. I would move ahead. I recalled that I had encountered Yasaka in the season of plum flowers and found the spot of Koma in the season of cherry blossoms. In May, among shining green trees, I started to build the Koma gallery Café. Together with an autumn breeze, I rented my private apartment and I became fully prepared to carry out my mission with ardent care as if I were a warrior before a battle. An autumn wind was sometimes very chilly and I felt as if it told me that Kyoto did not need an outsider. Then I replied to it in my mind that ” You should know that I am not an outsider but a family member of Koguryo people who built this city in ancient times”. These three spots in Kyoto would contribute not only to Japanese people but to people all over the world. Now we would see its development and I would keep on moving ahead.
