Costume of Koguryo
Together with souls of my ancestors who should have reflected their pure heart on the surface of water color as they dyed textiles, I created a costume out of Kimono, the Japanese traditional textile, after the fashion of ancient Koguryo using marbling technique. It enormously attracted me beyond any expression in words and made me marvel at a mysterious destiny that had led me to encounter many special things and people that seemed to be connected with the beauty of the world far beyond Heaven. It reflected also the hearts of human beings that have been wishing to be provided with an eternal life and I acknowledged that this new costume was made for a person with a pure and beautiful heart true to the original idea of my mind-scape drawing; the richness of a person’s internality was the key for living a truly happy life. I rejoiced at the sight of my new art piece that was also deeply associated with the music by Mr. Idaki Shin that has always made us realize a new human world that allowed everyone to help each other and live a beautiful and happy life filled with love.
