Legends of the world
I recalled that at this season of last year I had visited a land of Koguryo and celebrated my birthday at Mt. Gojo staying there all day long. I used a photo of Mt. Gojo with yellow flowers for the leaflet of my birthday concert this year. It looked like expressing a light-scape where pleasant winds were blowing and people got together side by side and enjoyed living a happy life. This also made me recall a dream I cherished in my childhood. After having spent all day long in Mt. Gojo, we moved to Jian, the ancient capital city of Koguryo. We got over many mountains and big rivers. I enjoyed traversing an immense land with a yearning for my ancestor’s remote days. Next day I climbed up to the top of Wandu mountain. True to what Mr. Idaki Shin had told me, the soul of king Kotai and king Tyoju were with me and I could climb with ease through one thousand and nine hundred years old untouched wild roots and moreover, some paths in the bush looked quite familiar to me though it was the very first time for me to be there. A human life was very mysterious as sensations of my ancestors could be found in my actual life and I knew how to walk and cope with severe slopes. I wondered why I was afraid of mountain climbing before departure. On top of Wandu mountain Mr. Idaki Shin photographed me and said that the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered were renovated into as the Legends of the World. I was surrounded by a cosmic atmosphere and I made a big nod back to him. Now I was heading to hold the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert in Kyoto and then in Teheran as a testimony of realizing a global peace through our concert activities. Yesterday I opened photo albums of my first visit to lands of Koguryo in the year 1998 wishing to see photos of beautiful peony flowers covering the land, and winds and atmosphere there have been fully revived in my mind. It was also in May so May was a month full of memories of my homeland. Winds of May seemed to carry aroma, joy and a light-scape of Koguryo’s homeland.
Flowers blooming in my homeland
Blue sky was extending to an infinite height
Widely opening its arms to embrace Heaven.
Ancient breezes were blowing around.
Souls of people would encounter each other transcending an elapse of time.
They became a wind and brought true love to my heart.
I was welcomed by beautiful flowers that remained the same as in ancient times.
As I greeted them with gratitude, my voice echoed to castles on top of mountains.
The souls of Koguryo’s people were seen at the fortification walls of Wandu castle city.
Winds of Koguryo told me that they were also with me.
Flowers blooming in my ancestor’s homeland were waving to them.
Beautiful souls shall live on in eternity.
