When I made a visit to Venice this May in order to place an order to create a special piano for Master Idaki Shin, I was troubled by my negative feeling against seas so I historically traced the reason and discovered within myself the spirituality of ancient marine people. By coincidence, Master Idaki Shin presented me a wonderful Venetian glass art piece in the shape of an arc. Today I opened its box for the first time and installed it at my new atelier with great respect and awe. My whole life trembled out of deep impression as I acknowledged its fate to become mine and come to Japan. Eventually I recalled that ancient Koguryo was a horse riding people and its sensibility was revived within my life when I visited a Mongol and rode on a horse to run through a vast field unified with the horse and a wind. Naturally I said that I would run throughout the world. This was my most sincere wish and in reality I have been guided globally to hold the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert.
When I lost my mother and father I was in a mental despair and in order to chin up I traced my roots and encountered Phoenician civilization and its tradition as maritime people. While I did not like sea and had the tendency to sea sickness I had never imagined that the root of my ancestor was a maritime people. However when I went to Venice this year the sensation of traveling by sea was revived within my life and I felt a great freedom. I was filled with joy and envisioned a great hope for the future.
Today I went to my new atelier in Mt. Hiei and being welcomed by the Venetian glass art piece in an arc shape that was presented to me, the most cherished time had come and I yearned for an unknown marvelous future. My whole life trembled and was filled with new energies to move around the world freely. I would do so from Mt. Hiei.
