In Kyoto

I looked at rich greening of trees of the Kyoto palace and people who passed by our shop, Komaya, and stopped as they found the Koma calligraphy sign board, that looked like an ancient one standing throughout history. I felt also that this had witnessed long history. I wondered if a soul would take shape it should be like this Koma board. I was greatly attracted. Today at the show window of our shop I exhibited historic objects excavated from the land of ancient Koguryo that suited the Koma calligraphy created by Master Idaki Shin very well. Then I walked along wet stone pavement out of the rain leading up to the Yasaka tower. I felt the atmosphere of souls of my ancestors who had lived there in ancient times. They had been buried underground for a long lapse of time and finally been resurrected as they were embraced by light and became brilliantly shining. I sat on a chair beside the big wooden table made of one lumber that generated an aroma of ancient times. I could even hear the sound of water and feel life in ancient times. I could talk to souls of people transcending time-space. In front of me there were photos of Mt. Gojo, the birth place of Koguryo, and Wandu castle city in a big and old wooden frame. They generated a wind of ancient times. Though I created the space I was greatly attracted by its beauty. My heart was fully satisfied at this pleasant place in Kyoto that silently made me happy and joyful. Foreign visitors told us that our shop was indeed what they had dreamt of seeing in Kyoto and was their favorite one. Together with souls of my ancestors I felt grateful to them while we were heading for the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert to be held on the 7th of July. My heart was greatly excited.
