Komanishiki textile

 

As I walked along the Oirase valley I found an inscription on wood that wrote about Komanishiki that was associated with my ancestor’s culture, and I felt at heart a great warmth and nostalgia. The beautiful stream of water and waves of trees in the valley gave me energies of life, and my soul felt a great assurance acknowledging “Koma” that demonstrated a link of my ancestors with this place in the world of souls. Having come back to Tokyo, I still vividly remember the inscription about “Koma” in the Oirase that made me excited at heart. Thank you very much.

The splash of water with heat
Fully resonated within my life
To purify me.
I was filled with the happiness of a new life

I came across “Koma”.
In the rich nature with a deep sound of life
That showed me a chain of souls since ancient times,
My heart became fully animated with warmth
And trembled out of deep gratitude.
This was an extremely precious time in my life
And tears came up in my eyes.
