Coffee shop in a wood
Yesterday, I walked along the Oirase valley and its natural energy of life fully renewed my life. At a wooden lodge by Towada Lake I had a handmade apple pie and iced coffee, and all of a sudden I acknowledged a touch of wind that seemed to me something I knew in the past. I traced my memory and recalled that I dropped in at a coffee shop in a beautiful wood in Morioka, and its delicious taste of coffee made of beautiful water purified my life with fresh wind. This was in the year 2004, Kinoesaru calendar, that I considered as the year for building a new country and held the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert in various parts of Japan. Actually as a support business activity by NPO Koma for Africa, we have been directly importing exquisite coffee beans from Ethiopia and Tanzania, so I had felt like opening our own coffee shop in a beautiful wood like that. And three years have passed since we opened our NPO Koma Tohoku center for the recovery of the Great Tohoku tsunami disaster. I made up my mind newly to build a roasting facility in Tohoku and today’s visit to Towada Lake made me recall its concrete image. I was greatly motivated to realize this, feeling the birth of a new power within my internality. Now that the great nature and Great Being were with us, it was time to take action. Thank you very much.
