Rain

Under the rain in Kyoto, in the inner garden of the Koma gallery Café at Yasaka, I created marbling costumes in the style of a traditional Japanese Kimono for Indian children who would participate in our concert. Wind, water and light were mingled to manifest the unique and extremely dramatic pattern in the world that made me feel the vast universe. Today rain drops were projected in them like flowers of light and looked amazingly beautiful and pure. That also made my mind pure and transparent. A child who would put one on was unique, being in the world, and with my costume one would surely brilliantly shine and expand a light of the freedom of life; the border between one’s internality and the external world would vanish and become pleasant. Today’s weather and rain drops looked like flowers of light coming down on earth from a Heavenly world. They were beautiful and purified my heart. While I always watched the weather report, I did not know that a rainy day could make my marbling truly wonderful. I was very glad and every staff member enjoyed working with me. Patterns created by chance encouraged our life with great hope that I wished to share soon with Indian children.
