From Kyoto to Tokyo

 

Under the heavy rain of an approaching typhoon our staff members brought back to Tokyo by cars all the marbling T-shirts I had created in Kyoto. Yesterday, it did not rain until I finished creating all the T-shirts. I believed that my prayer was heard by Great Being as I wished to present them to children in disaster hit areas as soon as possible. While I specially liked what I called Koguryo’s color, the combination of green and purple colors for marbling, towards the end of my work, more often than ever, I picked up these paints, and enjoyed doing marbling saying “Koguryo’s color, ready and go”. Actually Koguryo’s color expressed the color of the fortification wall of Mt. Gojo, the birth place of Koguryo’s dynasty that made my soul tremble. The color of natural stones that I imprinted in my mind was exquisitely beautiful. I knew I could not duplicate nor simulate the natural color with my marbling, however I still enjoyed using Koguryo’s color as it made me recall the original beauty. Usually I used many colors for marbling as I imagined that people would love to put on one with a variety of colors. However Koguryo’s color was made of only two colors,
