The truth
Today’s salon gathering was very animated as we talked about historic sites of Koguryo. A visitor who came from London looked greatly impressed by a photo book of Koguryo’s mural paintings and looked into it saying repeatedly that they were very interesting. A painting of people’s everyday life reminded her of many Japanese things such as a horseman’s archery, famous at Yabusame exercise of Shimogamo shrine, a heavenly angel that looked like Benzaiten, Sumo wrestling, traditional costumes, dancers, musical instruments, and a three legged crow as a messenger of God, etc. She talked about Japanese religion, traditions and culture. Seen from an eye of a foreigner Koguryo was the source of many Japanese traditional things while she had been studying history and culture of Japan. Actually she had little idea about Koguryo and became eager to know more about it in relationship with history in East Asia. To my wonder the huge influence of Koguryo over the history and culture of Japan, Koguryo and its name, have been hidden underground. When I became motivated to feel a historic atmosphere and soul of Koguryo, my ancestor’s dynasty, and visited a spot in Japan that looked like having a strong link with Koguryo, I could never find the name of Koguryo or Kome but a word saying that it was brought in from abroad in ancient times. However the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concert and Idaki Shin concert always provided each a spectator to properly acknowledge the truth of history and the influence of Koguryo inherited within one’s internality, so I could bear hope to live on. When a person became awakened to the truth the internal condition of a human world would change into a new one and manifested an era of the truth. The time would soon come as in this May we would organize as many as seven Idaki Shin concerts and the Legends of Koguryo Rediscovered concerts. Everything was under the influence of Great Being.
