Wandu castle city
At today’s salon gathering at Café Akira in Tokyo, after some absence I screened a video of Wandu castle city produced by Mr. Idaki Shin when I had climbed up to its top about two years ago. In ancient Koguryo people used to establish two cities, one on flat land and another surrounded by mountains. Fortification falls made of stone have completely protected the cities, which remained intact unexcavated for over one thousand nine hundred years. I had long wished to get there in my life time and realize the ancient atmosphere and energy of Koguryo, however when I came to be provided with the opportunity to visit there, I was hit by fear and resisted for an unknown reason. But once I started to climb the surrounding mountains, I found myself very light and realized within myself the presence of numerous souls who knew the way and guided me. Finally the fortification wall standing on top of a mountain came into my sight and I became extremely excited and happy as its winds, air and aroma remained true to the original state of ancient Koguryo’s dynasty. Everybody, women, children, and old ladies were living a happy life, as their life was unified as one though they had lived in wartime. I realized that the spirituality of Koguryo was eternal. The music created by Mr. Idaki Shin for this video invited us to a world far beyond the universe and filled us with the atmosphere of eternal life. We were extremely happy and I was glad to be able to hold a gathering at the Café Akira and screen a precious video work that made us forget the lapse of time and enormously encouraged us to move ahead as we could share and talk about the finest human sensations in our heart and delicate changes of our mind that were very difficult things to communicate to each other.
