Preparing for my photo exhibition

P1010386.JPGToday I have selected frames for photos taken by myself during my previous visit to Koguryo’s historic sites in China, and they seemed to express the light of spirituality. One of my staff exclaimed that everyone who would come to appreciate them would surely feel supreme happiness and be greatly moved by all of them. My atelier was indeed filled with a cheerful atmosphere. As each piece of stone making Koguryo’s fortification wall was a work of people’s souls, I imagined that my photos with specially selected frames would be installed in the same manner as an ancient wall. I decided to show my photos because I could envision souls of Koguryo’s people residing within each photo. Everything looked like magical photos of my homeland taken in ancient times. They seemed to have been inherited and engraved within my life; a passage among trees leading up to the top of the mountain, fortification walls, mountains, rivers and flowers in a wild field. I could also feel the presence of souls that have been supporting my life since childhood. I became certain of the realization of a truly peaceful world as the eternal light of Koguryo was captured in photos taken by Mr. Idaki Shin.
