Night in Kyoto
I returned to my hotel at nearly one a.m. at night after a long interview with a personality from a local FM program. He was a monk whom I met at my gallery exhibition at Yasaka. He said at the meeting before the broadcast, that he was unusually attracted by something and entered my gallery though he was in a big hurry and met me by chance as I was also on a very short visit to Kyoto and stayed at the gallery only for few hours. He considered our encounter as something extraordinary and very important in his life. He had already talked about it in his radio program a week ago and asked me to come to join his program today. He seemed to be extremely impressed by the number and variety of activities I have achieved in the past. During the broadcast, I was very satisfied to be able to talk a lot about our coming concert in Kyoto. One of my volunteer staff happened to be acquainted with a director of the station who asked for ticket. Obviously a dynamism favorable to our concert was created.
On the way to Yasaka from Kyoto station, I passed through narrow streets and all of a sudden Yasaka tower stood still before my eyes. I was amazed at it because it was built in ancient times as a symbol of prosperity of the Koma tribe. On arriving at Yasaka gallery I was extremely excited and started talking to everybody entering to my exhibition. An old monk with a pure beautiful face came to see it and without making any introduction I asked him abruptly to buy tickets for the coming Idaki Shin concert in Kyoto as I felt as if I knew him for a long time. He looked little upset, asked the price and said he would come back again later. I asked his name and his name was Nitta, one of the typical names associated with the Koguryo family. Then I told him that we should have been coming from the same family. After that we enjoyed conversation very much.
