Heart to heart
In early spring I always suffer from pollen allergy and I recall many stories related to it.
I make it a rule to dress properly and make up my face with care. However, during this season, I look terrible as I keep on sneezing and have difficulty in conversation. I recalled that when I went to Sendai to promote the Idaki Shin charity concert for the great Hanshin earthquake, more pollen was reported because of its geographic location, so I suffered badly. I could not even introduce my name. So I started communicating with people in writing. I wrote down the objective of my visit and asked one person to support our charity concert and buy tickets. He said yes and asked for one ticket and tried to pay for it. Then I wrote down ten instead of one ticket and he gave me money for ten. Considering my physical condition he did not stay longer and left me alone after receiving the tickets. I was enormously moved by his warm consideration to me. In Hiroshima, as well, I had been supported by many people with good will. Though appearances were very important, the most essential thing was my devotion to help people in difficulties and my deepest wishes could be well received by people with the same heart.
