Courtesy of Koma

The Koma-bon exhibition fair was taking place at the Koma gallery Café at Yasaka and I called it a fair expressing the courtesy of Koma and to my wonder, I came to realize its meaning through what was actually happening there every day. As I always considered that expression in words was identical to one’s state of life, “courtesy” was the symbolic title that governed the atmosphere of my event. Today I went upstairs to create mind-scape ties under the Yasaka tower. A gust of breeze coming down from it seemed to carry voices of ancient people’s souls and I received a message saying that they had built the tower as a landmark in Kyoto so that their fellow people of Koguryo, who had left their homeland and moved to remote places in every direction, could come back here without losing their way. I envisioned that more and more souls were gathering here. I could not resist shedding tears while working on ties. Further when I ate special Zenzai hand made by Mr. Idaki Shin, tears came up in my tears, as I realized that souls of Koguryo people were indeed resurrected and they were here with me. I was grateful to be here representing people who have lived here. The Koma gallery Café became a sacred spot. Therefore when I saw something not polite I felt offended and became sorrowful. To my gratitude, when I expressed my sincere feeling to people who did the wrong thing, he or she immediately understood what I meant and willingly corrected him or herself. We could get along better than before. Through my international activities, I have experienced that people could show respect to others and have meaningful dialogues when everyone remained true to the idea of courtesy irrespective of nationalities, native languages and religions as one’s center of life. In this regard Mr. Idaki Shin’s concert was a marvelous opportunity for mutually acknowledging the unity of life, love and realizing the mutual understanding at the depth of life overcoming these differences. Under the Yasaka tower, I was grateful to be provided with the precious opportunity for realizing the idea of courtesy of Koma, and I was ready to resume my global activities. Winds blowing around Yasaka were voices of my ancient ancestor’s soul and told me the importance of showing utmost respect to every living creature so that one could open up the future of humankind. I could not sufficiently express in words my great gratitude coming up from the bottom of my heart. I realized also that numerous souls rejoiced at special Zenzai hand made by Mr. Idaki Shin as I could not eat it without shedding tears. The courtesy I realized through the Koma-bon exhibition fair was a quite natural and indispensable thing for a human being and I was provided with a new bearing for my future.
