As I prepared at the Koma gallery Café for the coming fair exhibition of my handmade plates, Koma-bon or courtesy of Koma, a beautiful pink light spread all over the space and everything was shining brilliantly. I loved this wonderful moment. Komasui art works joined me at the gallery space on the second floor where I envisioned fairies of plum flowers dancing freely in the space to welcome me as I went upstairs from the ground floor. I cheered at the sight of the space filled with joy at the arrival of spring. A wind of pink flowers passed through. In the homeland of my ancestors, plum flowers and the sound of streams of water of melting snow told people of the arrival of spring and the end of a long snowy winter. Frozen land received gentle warm light and started to fill the space with pink light. I rejoiced at everything, I felt like addressing any person inviting one to come to see our space and celebrate all together with joy the arrival of spring. I drew mind-scape drawings on Koma-bon plates with gold foil and installed them by myself. As I watched photos taken by Mr. Idaki Shin they looked like noble people staying there quite politely. I acknowledged the reason why I came up with an idea of courtesy when I had created them. Actually I enjoyed making them without noticing an elapse of time and when I finished it was after midnight. I also made calligraphy works on Japanese traditional paper so that I attached one to each special gift package. I did not stop appreciating them without raising my voice saying bravo. Like this I wanted to make a truly special hand-made gift package. Further I made a Keiko Koma package wrapped by beautiful paper that contained a secret book that would invite good luck to an owner’s life. Everywhere was surrounded by an aroma of dreams. I was grateful to my beautiful life and for having had a truly happy moment in my life. Mr. Idaki Shin took all the pains to hand-make special lucky rice cakes, Kaiun-zenzai, Gojo sablé and pound cake. I was truly looking forward to receiving everybody here with a heart of Koma.

My heart waiting for a noble person from ancient times,
I had anticipated the arrival of this glorious moment,
When souls of Koguryo people were resurrected, as their life was truthful.
With great joy to welcome an authentic spring,
Plum flowers have carried an aroma from my homeland.
The warmth of having lived together in my mind.
My heart trembled at a breath of spring.
I wished that every fellow would live a vigorous life,
And that we would live an eternal life all together.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude, as I could realize the heart of Koma.
