At the Nara museum

I drove to Nara from Kyoto under a pure sky of beautiful sunbeams. When I passed by the Kizu river, near the ancient ruins of Koma temple, a signboard attracted my eyes as it said we were in the land of Koma. So I created the following poem.

In the land of Koma

A sorrowful sky was reflected in my eyes
and the vanity of people’s lives was engraved on this land.
They have been delivering silent messages
that could be heard only by one’s soul and cherished by each other.
Light has never been extinguished.
However, it has never been seen from outside.
Many generations have passed.
Now a new wind has blown to announce the arrival of time.
Thunderous sounds were heard,
and grievances of history accumulated deep under ground
encountered a special light and dissolved into the world of light.
Then everyone's heart was iluminated with the vision of a marvelous future.
Winds echoed to the screams of souls and reached the depth of my heart
We would all move forwards together.
Now was the time.

The ruins of Heijou castle were indeed a land of Koma where the Nara museum was also located. Its parking space was full and many people came to see my exhibition. I was amazed at the big number of visitors even in daytime on a week day. I felt they had heard a call from the world of souls. While I was happy and felt deepest gratitude at the sight of Heijou palace seen from an elevator, I realized a gathering of numerous souls for opening up a new world. I shed tears out of great impression. The exhibition space consisted of my mind-scape art works and photo panels of Koguryo taken by Mr. Idaki Shin and our stereo sound system played him playing the piano, whose notes generated numerous lights like shining stars in a night sky. This beautiful world filled everyone with happiness at being alive. Once again I was grateful for being provided with the chance of realizing this wonderful exhibition in Nara..
